An external hydraulic gear pump works as follows: a drive gear (usually driven by a motor) rotates an idler gear in the opposite direction. When the gears rotate, fluid trapped between the gear teeth between the house bore and outside of the gears moves towards the outlet side as opposed to the inlet.

GP1 Series Pumps
The GP1 Series is available in 7 displacements 23 cc, 29 cc, 41 cc, 46 cc, 60 cc & 80 cc. They are light and compact, and can be installed in either rear or side mount configuration. VP1 Series Pumps
The VP1- series has 6 frame sizes, VP1-045, -060 -075, -095, -110 and -130 & operate at a maximum intermittent pressure between 350 bar to 400 bar dependent on model size. The VP1 provides the hydraulic system with the correct amount of fluid at precisely the right moment, effectively reducing energy consumption and heat generation. This means a smoother and quieter hydraulic system with much reduced impact on the environment. The VP1 is highly efficient and extremely light. It is reliable, economical and easy to install. The VP1-045/-060/-075 can be also supplied with a through drive to allow another pump to be closed coupled off the aperture. The VP1 is highly efficient and extremely light.
